What is SRS ?
SRS stands for Sequence Retrieval System.
It is a database system mainly for biological databanks. The option to
store, link, and mine various databanks makes it one of the most
powerful research tool available at this moment.
The GATC Platform SRS server:
In order to import microarray databanks into SRS, an Auto-Upload Tool was built. This tool allows one to store databanks
of a predefined format into a user-owned directory. In this directory, databanks can be managed, viewed and uploaded
into SRS. In the view interface, links to other databanks can be specified for each field. Simple calculations can be
performed to average and combine log2 data fields. Finally, permissions can be set for whom will have access to the particular dataset in SRS. The dataset can then be imported into SRS, which normally takes place within minutes.
A manuscript describing the Auto-Upload Tool has been submitted. Upon publication this tool will become freely downloadable.
